Turn your digital download into a print that fits your home. This guide covers downloading your files, choosing a US or UK frame size, and getting good results at home or with a print shop. Always check your product description for the files and maximum print sizes included.
How do I download my artwork?
After payment is confirmed, use the download links on your order confirmation or in your order email. Check your spam or junk folder if the email has not arrived. Follow the link supplied with your order; some files are hosted on Google Drive or Dropbox. Choose the download option to save the original file, rather than saving a preview image or taking a screenshot.
If a link asks for access, will not open, or appears to be missing, contact us with your order number and the name of the print. Please do not buy the artwork again to resolve a download problem.
Can I download on my phone, and what is a ZIP file?
You can download on a phone if your browser and file app support the file type. Look in your device’s Downloads folder or file app after saving. A ZIP file is a folder of files packaged together: extract or unzip it before uploading the artwork to a printer. On Windows, right-click the ZIP and choose Extract All. On a Mac, double-click it. If your phone cannot open a large ZIP, use a laptop or desktop instead.
Which file fits my frame?
Match the file’s proportions (its aspect ratio) to the finished print size. The examples below explain common ratios; they do not mean every product includes every size. Stay within the maximum size listed for your purchase. If your frame has a mount or mat, check the opening that will show the artwork, as well as the frame’s overall size.
2:3 ratio: 4 × 6, 6 × 9, 8 × 12, 10 × 15, 12 × 18, 16 × 24 and 20 × 30 inches.
3:4 ratio: 6 × 8, 9 × 12, 12 × 16 and 18 × 24 inches.
4:5 ratio: 8 × 10 and 16 × 20 inches.
A-series file: A5 (148 × 210 mm), A4 (210 × 297 mm), A3 (297 × 420 mm) and A2 (420 × 594 mm), where supplied.
11 × 14 or 5 × 7 inches: use a file specifically supplied for that size, where included.
For example, choose the 4:5 file for an 8 × 10 inch frame and the A-series file for an A4 frame. A4 and 8 × 10 inches are different shapes, so swapping them can crop the artwork or add borders. If your size is not listed, contact us before ordering a print.
Why is my print cropped or surrounded by a white border?
Check the print preview before paying or printing. A “fill” or borderless setting can trim the edges to fill the paper; a “fit” setting preserves the whole image but can leave a border if the paper and artwork have different proportions. Choose the correct ratio and target print dimensions, keep the proportions locked, and check that text and decorative edges remain visible. Do not stretch the image to fit.
Do not automatically choose 100% or “actual size” for every file: a large source image may need to be scaled down to your chosen dimensions. Some home printers cannot print to the paper’s edge. You may need a border, larger paper to trim, or a professional printing service.
What paper and settings should I use at home?
Choose photo or fine-art paper designed for your printer type, and stay within your printer’s supported paper weight. Matte paper is a useful starting point for illustration and typography; satin or lustre can suit photographic artwork. The coating and printer compatibility matter more than simply choosing thick cardstock.
Select the matching paper type and a high-quality print setting. Print a small test before using expensive paper or producing a whole set. Colours can differ between a bright screen and a physical print; paper, ink and printer settings all affect the result. A low-resolution warning may mean you selected a preview file, cropped too heavily or requested a size larger than the supplied artwork supports.
How do I order from a print shop?
Use a local print shop or an online service that accepts the original file type supplied. Ask for the finished dimensions you need, choose your paper and review the crop preview. Upload the downloaded artwork, not the product listing photograph or a screenshot. For a large print or matching gallery wall, order a small proof first and use consistent paper and settings across the set. Check each provider’s current sizes, prices and delivery options before ordering.

How should I plan a gallery wall?
Lay out paper templates at the intended frame sizes before printing. Check the available wall space and leave consistent gaps between frames; around 2–3 inches (5–8 cm) is a useful starting point to adjust for your room. Choose each file for its own frame size and keep the paper finish consistent for a coordinated set.
Can I share or sell the downloaded files?
